DIRECTIONS - This waterfall is located a short distance upstream from Upper Skyline Falls. It's actually pretty tricky to get from one to the other through. You'll also have to cross the creek to get the best view, which can be pretty tricky when the volume is high. We found a log to scoot across, but one of the guys in our group almost fell off.

Lower Horizon Falls is the second highest waterfall discovered so far on the precipitous unnamed creek that drops off the side of Skyline Divide. The falls drops a total of 135' in two tiers: an 80' upper section that is very hard to see and the gorgeous 55' tall drop seen here. Like all the waterfalls on the creek, this one is a gem, truly pristine with moss, fern, leafy plants, and an ancient forest surrounding it. If you happen to find yourself here, show some respect. Take your pictures and enjoy yourself but try to keep the moss intact as much as possible. This place is pretty fragile.

I used to call this one Horizon Falls, but after discovering the amazing waterfall just upstream, I thought it deserved to be the major waterfall on this section of the creek.
