DIRECTIONS - Take HWY 20 east from the tiny town of Newhalem and park at the Pyramid Lake Trailhead. Begin hiking up the steep trail. In just under a mile you will cross the stream that comes out of Pyramid Lake. Follow this stream down for a couple hundred feet until it joins the other fork of Pyramid Creek. You're only about 200' upstream from the falls at this point, so bushwhack down the side of the main creek until you get a clear view.

Apogee Falls is a small, but very pretty waterfall located just off the Pyramid Lake Trail. The falls begin with 21' worth of cascades before dropping 32' in a wide curtain of water. The waterfall finishes with a 9' plunge just downstream. The entire area is absolutely surrounded by thick moss and is an amazing scene. The really nice waterfall combined with the ease of access make this a must visit if you're already heading up to Pyramid Lake. It would be really easy to build a short spur trail to a view of the falls and I'm sure many people would love to visit if that were done.

Just downstream from the waterfall is a small, 12' drop that is super pretty. If you make it to the falls, you might as well check that one out as well. The lower falls are not much further downstream, but the bushwhacking gets a little more difficult.
