DIRECTIONS - Head east on I-90, take exit #13, and turn right towards Newcastle. Park at the Red Town Trailhead on the left side of the road in 3 miles. Head up the trail and take an almost immediate left onto the Cave Holes Trail. Follow this for 1/2 a mile and turn right onto the Coal Creek Falls Trail (all the forks are signed). From here it's another 1/2 a mile to the falls.

This pretty waterfall occurs where Coal Creek slides about 20' over a pretty waterfall before spreading out and dropping another couple feet in a pretty fan shape. The falls are viewed from a nice bridge right in front of the waterfall. There are several other small waterfalls in the park and the low elevation makes this a nice winter hike when other waterfalls are snowed in. It's not a big waterfall by any stretch of the imagination, but it's pretty and relatively easy to get to.

For a slightly longer hike, once you get to the falls continue along the falls, turning right at the fork in about 1/2 a mile onto the Indian Trail. Take a right again at the next fork and follow the trail for another 1/2 a mile or so to the parking lot.
