DIRECTIONS - Drive out Baker Lake Road and turn left onto FR 12. Follow it for several miles, taking the left at each of the forks (the second fork will be signed for Blue Lake). Follow the road to the trailhead. You may spot the falls from the road about 1/2 a mile before the trailhead. The hike to the lake is very easy and worth it for the views of gorgeous Blue Lake. It should be possible to scramble down the outlet for a close view.

I always assumed there was some sort of waterfall at the outlet of Blue Lake, but I hadn't seen the falls yet. On a recent drive up to the trailhead I spotted this waterfall from the road. I hiked into the lake and attempted to scramble down to get a view. It's probably possible on the east side of the falls, but it was steep, very brushy, and raining when I was there so I didn't attempt it (I was also wearing shorts at the time). From what I've seen so far, the waterfall appears to drop around 60' in height in a pretty fan-shaped drop. If I can get a closer view I will give you more details.

Either way, you should hike to the lake if you get a chance. It's a very short hike and the lake, as seen below, is absolutely stunning.
