Upper Emerald Pool Falls is a really nice, but difficult to view waterfall located about 3/4 of a mile upstream from Highway 20. The waterfall occurs where the creek breaks out of a rugged sub-alpine valley and enters a narrow canyon. The creek drops 80' in an attractive fan shape as it falls with a second, smaller volume segment to the right. Unfortunately, the climb up to the falls and steepness of the canyon walls make it very difficult to access the falls and almost impossible to get a clear view. I strongly suggest leaving this one alone. As pretty as it is, the considerable effort required and the lack of a safe view make it not worthwhile for most people.
