DIRECTIONS - Head east from Verlot for 4.5 miles and turn right onto FR 4020. In two and a half miles, take the right onto FR 4021. The falls can be seen in the small canyon on the right side of the road in about 800'.

This waterfall only finds a spot on the website because it can be seen from the road on the way to the popular Ashland Lakes Trail. Schweitzer Creek is a very small creek, but it should run year round. The falls occur where the creek slides about 25 vertical feet into a pretty pool at the bottom, fanning out on the way down. The whole thing is somewhat reminiscent of a small version of Upper Clear Creek Falls near Randle, WA. The water of Schweitzer Creek is a crazy, bright reddish-brown color thanks to the abundance of acid in the water. At some point in the future I will probably scramble down to the bottom for a clearer picture of this waterfall but it will take some work and for such a small waterfall most people won't bother.
