DIRECTIONS - Turn off Highway 2 just east of the town of Skykomish onto Beckler River Road (FR 65). Follow the road over Jacks Pass and down the other side. When you reach the junction with FR 63, continue straight onto the pavement and follow it for about 3/4 of a mile to the creek, notable because of the metal grating in the road. The falls are visible from here.

This is a small, but pretty waterfall that occurs just upstream from Index-Galena Road. The creek drains off of Troublesome Mountain, hence the name. The waterfall begins by plunging about 15' before striking the bedrock and fanning out into a pretty array of watery goodness. The view from the road isn't bad, but clearer views can be attained by scrambling steeply uphill to the base. If you choose to do this, I recommend staying in the woods to the right of the creek (about 75' away from the creek). It will be much, much easier. Just cut over to the creek when you get close to the falls.
