DIRECTIONS - Drive south of Darrington on the Mountain Loop Highway. About 2 miles north of Barlow Pass, turn left onto the road signed for the Goat Lake Trailhead. Park at the trailhead and head out. Take the Lower Elliott Trail when given a choice. It is a shorter route and much more scenic. The lake is reached in about 4.5 miles.

Bridal Veil Falls is a mostly seasonal waterfall that drops into gorgeous Goat Lake along the Mountain Loop Highway. By August (when my picture was taken) the creek is barely a trickle coming down the cliff, but at the peak of snowmelt, the falls are fairly impressive. Take this hike for Mackintosh Falls and the views of the beautiful lake, but check out this nice little accent while you're there.
