The waterfall on the outlet of Hawkins Lake is a beautiful, swooshing, s-shaped horsetail about 50' tall. Unfortunately, the way the canyon turns just down from the falls, the steep falls of the canyon, and the trees growing around the canyon make it extremely difficult to get any sort of view. All of this adds up to make this a waterfall you should not attempt to visit. If you are planning to visit Shelf Lake, it's worth the short climb over the ridge to see Hawkins Lake as well, but I would forget about this waterfall.
