Middle Sholes Creek Falls is one of my absolute favorite waterfalls. The large volume of Sholes Creek constricts to no more than 4' wide before launching out into a stunning amphitheater. While the majority of the water shoots out from the cliff, a small portion gracefully slides down, creating a waterfall that is both immensely powerful and incredibly beautiful at the same time. Add to this the fact that the base of Lasiocarpa Falls lies no more than 50' away from the base of Middle Sholes, and you have one of the coolest places one will ever seen. It's just a shame it is so incredibly difficult to get to . . . or maybe that's a good thing.
